147: Christmas Day?
What happened on Christmas Day where I am?
At 10AM, a large half-barrel on stilts appeared through the gate, loaded with charcoal and topped with some sort of handmade grate. The charcoal was set alight and allowed to warm up, before the grate was loaded with meats, fish and assorted vegetables. At 11:30AM the whole family arrived from the family house in Det Udon, and by 12 noon, we were all eating. Christmas Barbecue? It’s more likely than you think!
